Full Time Paramedic

 The Village of Baldwin is accepting applications for a full-time paramedic for the Baldwin Area  Ambulance Service. Baldwin Area EMS is a Critical Care Paramedic Service located in western  WI. They average 1,800 calls per year and cover approximately 240 sq. miles of both urban and  rural areas. An ideal candidate for the full-time paramedic position would be comfortable running in an ALS system with both prehospital and interfacility transport and would have  their critical endorsement or can obtain it within a year of being hired. They would also have their National Registry and WI license or are able to obtain a license prior to starting. Field  experience would be a plus but not required. 


 Duties: 

 - Responding to 911 emergencies and/or interfacility transport.  

- Supervisory duties while at the station, incident command on-scene 

 - Providing ALS intercepts with BLS services, when requested 

 - Helping with station tasks, for example, scheduling maintenance on vehicles, 

inventorying  supplies, working with new hires, helping with public events, sporting event standbys, CPR and  ACLS education. 

 - Position reports directly Duty Supervisor and EMS Chief.  Required Qualifications:  - Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. 

 - must be 18 years of age or older - Current CPR, National Registry at Paramedic level with current ACLS and PALS certifications 

 - NIMS/ICS  


Wages and Benefits:

 - Starting salary range between $65,000 and $70,000 based on experience and credentials.

 - Competitive benefit packages are offered, health insurance, WRS Retirement. 

 - 48/96 work shift, two days on, four days off.

Owned and Operated by the Village of Baldwin, Baldwin Area EMS is currently seeking energetic and dedicated Part-time EMT's and Paramedics. Baldwin Area EMS is staffed by a fulltime EMS Chief and three Field Supervisors with about 50 paid on-call EMT's/Paramedics. Located on I-94, 19 miles from the WI/MN border, the Village of Baldwin and its surrounding communities are some of the fastest growing areas in the State of Wisconsin. Our members are dedicated to delivering the highest level of pre-hospital medical care advocating health and public safety while continually working for excellence in Emergency Medical Services through innovation, education, and meeting the changing needs and growth of our community. Hiring Process: Application Intake, Interview, Background Investigation, *Conditional Offer, Physical Exam (including Drug Test and Psychological Exam).*Conditional Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of the Physical exam, Drug test, Psychological Exam and Background Investigation.  

Education: Must have National Registry and be eligible to obtain a State of Wisconsin EMT license.

Qualifications: General - Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship. 

Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application. Must have good character and reputation; superior self-command, alertness, and judgment; ability to establish and maintain good working and public relations. Conviction of a serious offense, repeated or numerous convictions for minor offenses, conviction of an offense involving moral turpitude, or discharge from the military service under other than honorable conditions may be disqualifying.

Candidates must be able to work any combination of weekends and/or weekday shifts- evenings or day shifts. EMT's are paid on call and per run, these are part time positions, you choose work hours based on your availability each month. 

Candidate must have a valid driver's license with no significant driving record. Prior experience in a pre-hospital EMS agency is desired. Preference will be given to those that live in the immediate service area. Candidate must also possess effective interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
